People Innovating to Change Housing
Housing associations are under immense pressure to digitalise their offering, whilst also adhering to budget cuts and regulatory changes set by the government. It’s no wonder that associations are looking for innovative solutions and ways of using digital technology that will meet customer expectations.
ORM introduces PITCH – People Innovating To Change Housing. This is a one-day “hackathon” event – where teams collaborate on digital initiatives, innovating new concepts, quickly. This could include software developers, designers, business analysts and subject matter experts, who develop ideas based on a real industry challenge. The outcome of the hackathon is to develop a design or working prototype that responds to the challenge and can be developed further by a business.
Some specific themes that we’ll be focusing on for the challenges, are:
- Online repairs – can an online system be created to seamlessly ease repairs to houses and buildings?
- Communication – what are the most effective ways to engage with tenants and communicate important issues and updates regarding their home?
- The Green Paper – how to balance meeting tenants needs with complying to new safety measures set out by the government last year
- Data sharing – a controversial topic, but essential for the sector to digitalise and create new standards of working together, for the benefit of tenants
We invite you to be part of this series of events:
Working alongside Microsoft, as well as our client Moat, and other leading housing associations, ORM will bring together visionaries with different skill-sets and give them a stage to create new products and initiatives for housing associations. This event has the potential to revolutionise the use of digital technology in the housing sector and we invite you to be part of it.
